Energy treatments are derived from Chinese, Japanese, Indian and other eastern medicine practices. These modalities can be applied over clothing, allowing them to be easily delivered at my office, or at your home or hotel.
Polarity
Dr. Randolph Stone studied many ancient systems of energy work, including ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Reflexology and Cranial Sacral Bodywork. He combined these into a system of gentle rocking movements and holds that promote the flow of energy throughout the body. He named this modality Polarity.
Reflexology
Reflexology derives from the principles of interconnectivity between extremities – hands and feet – and the energy channels that travel throughout the body. By gentle manipulation of the feet, energy flow to internal organs and body systems can be improved, and blocks removed.
Shiatsu/Accupressure
Shiatsu and accupressure are systems of manipulation of the energy channels using light touch on qi meridians. Originally a Japanese treatment named anma, this modality follows the fundamental teachings of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Unwinding
Unwinding is a system of movement that stems from the belief that the body retains, or remembers, trauma. In an unwinding treatment, the therapist encourages the body to revisit injuries in a safe space and to start a journey of recovery from trauma.
Treatment
These techniques are used separately or together to promote relaxation, and to encourage the body to heal itself. Energy work is normally limited to a 60 minute session, but can be extended if requested.
